Castellar Subraces

Currently, five subraces are available for the Castellar Campaign and Planewalkers though almost any other may be proposed to DMs.

To play a subrace when creating a PC, select the base race then click "subrace" and fill in the name exactly as shown below.

Subrace modifications will be added when you log into the game so please take into account the changes that will occur in later in your PC's stats as you create your PC.

1. Drow- A secretive race of dark elves said to reside in remote depths beneath the land, where their tyranny is focused single-mindedly on power and domination. Alike in learning to land elves, but more ambitious in the claims to power, Drow often consider other elves as sworn enemies. In Castellar, Drow are not harmed by light, but they do much prefer darkness.
Base race: elf
Abilities: +2 INT, -2 CHA, casts Darkness once a day, spell resistance of 3 + PC's hit dice, +1 on will saves
XP Adjustment: -10% less for combat than fellow party members because of special powers

2. Forest Gnome- Forest gnomes are raised in ancient forests with especially close ties to the natural world and its powers. Often they are found as druids in remote woods, rather than in the tinkering professions of ordinary urban gnomes, though they share the same innate curiosity.
Base race: gnome
Abilities: +2 WIS, +2 DEX, -2 CON, +2 Dodge, +2 Hide, + 1 on all saves, casts Entangle once per day
XP Adjustment: -10% less for combat than fellow party members because of special powers

3. Sea Elf - Aquatic elves live beneath the seas in nomadic bands, generally keeping to themselves and disdaining land elves as far too pedantic and less sporting than the active elves of the sea. Sea elves have no written language and thus tend to avoid the arcane and academic pursuits that fascinate their land-living cousins.
Base race: elf
Abilities: +2 STR, -2 INT, swimming, can move at full speed underwater unlike land-dwelling PCs, underwater breathing, -1 on saving throws versus fire.

4. Castellar - They are the ruling group of humans in the Empire, a noble class that focuses on healthful military training and fitness, education and learning, and above all, their duty to rule. From a young age, Castellar are groomed for their mission, and given their heritage of military conquest and technical skill, they start with a personal weapon. However, because of they are taught to defer to authority, they seem more vulnerable to magic that affects the mind and will.
Base race: human
Abilities: +1 CON, spell resistance 2, lore+3, -1 on will saves and -1 against mind affecting spells.
Starts with a personal masterwork weapon.

5. Kender -- Kender are a group of halflings of slight stature, known for their courage, sharp wit and lightning quick movement. Kender tend to be fearless and adventuresome, though not always wise.
Base race: halfling
Abilities: -2 WIS, +2, DEX, immune to fear, taunt+10
